December 30th, 2007Christmas bells for the festive season
Welcome to our first news update!
Since arriving in Byron Bay late in 2007, we’ve been busy with lots of different events and we thought you might find some of them interesting.
Just before Christmas 2007, we were delighted to take part in the ceremony for the lighting up of the Byron Bay Christmas tree that was sponsored by our local business group, Byron United.
We played lots of Christmas Carols in the lead up to Santa arriving on a motor cycle. The kids in particular went crazy!
After the success of that, we were invited to help celebrate at the Bangalow Show where the theme was “It’s almost Christmas”.
We were seen driving into the Bangalow showgrounds, merrily playing Jingle Bells whilst the local police paddy wagon followed, all lights flashing.
When we arrived in the centre, Santa and Mrs Claus emerged from the paddy wagon to the delight of young and old.
Next was Carols by the Sea in Byron Bay which was the first time the event was held in the park opposite the Beach Hotel.
Here we played all the well known Christmas songs such as Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Deck the halls, amongst others. A fine night was had by all who attended.
On a final Christmas note, we opened the proceedings at the Bangalow Street party on Christmas Eve.
